(Sorry for all the background, it's a little relavant to the story)

So everything up to this point has been going mediocre at best, every time I turn around the concrete crew is stirring up some minor drama, which wouldn't normally matter...BUT THE KEEP DOING IT, and IT'S GETTING OLD!  So I already don't have patience with ANY of these guys!!!

At this point in the project I have three parks that are tore up all the grading and concrete work has been done BUT there is absolutely no playground equipment going in.  Here is where "Russell" enters the story.  He is a one man show, basically, owns his own business, he is a little older, but not "Old" by any means, and has a couple of guys working for him, yada yada yada.  I have not seen Russell on the project for quite a while now, and as of like a week or so ago, I'm starting to get very antsy.  The residents of Fort Worth tend to get a little bitchy if there is a park in the middle of their neighborhood that is tore up and nothing is being done, and THEY WATCH to see whats going on, so I'm just waiting for the phone calls to start.

I show up on the job today and was talking to my concrete guy and basically said "This shit is starting to piss me off, there isn't any activity going on at these parks, WTF?" (Yeah, i really do talk like that one the job)  THAT is when my concrete forman goes "You haven't heard about Russell?" I was like "Ummm...No?"

He proceeds to tell me that Russell was in some sort of work related accident (not on one of my jobs) and is basically in the hospital and he's not in good shape at all.  I go over and start talking to the GC's foreman and he tells me the rest of the story....

Without going into details, that don't really matter really, the accident has basically left Russell in a vegetative state!  I was just floored!  I mean, I didn't know what to say, FIRST OFF, I felt like a big ole piece of shit, because I was like starting to rant about where the hell is Russell?  Then I was just amazed at the whole situation!  Like I said this guy is older, not old by any means, DEF had some years left in him and some little slip (okay it was a little more than a slip, but I don't want to get any more technical than I already have) and now the doctors are telling his wife that it will basically take a miracle for him to come through this!

The whole point of this is that "It can all be gone, or be over, just like that!"  BAM!  You're done!  This isn't the first time that I have been slapped with that reality.  It's amazing, everytime I experience something like this, I think "Wow, I'll never take anything for granted again, I will enjoy life to the last drop, squeeze every last bit out of everything and have no regrets" but sadly it doesn't last, and even more sadly, something comes along again, and I have the same thought....again. 

 I don't want to be overly dramatic about this whole thing, to be honest, it's not like me a Russell were BFF's, I worked with him for a minute, he was a nice guy, he had a nice smile, he was a little irritated the last time that I talked to him because of the concrete crews shenannigan, be HEY!  SO WAS I!  But this whole thing did leave an impression, and once again, I'm sitting here thinking "I will make sure that all my friends and family KNOW I love them and KNOW that they mean something to me, and KNOW that I'm happy I got to be included in their lives....

I think I'm done...cuz I think I'm rambling at this point!  I think you all get it! 

On a side note I have renamed Vinnie "God" and Dot "Satan" because there always seems to be an epic battle of good and evil in my house and Dot is DEF no saint!

But everything is going pretty good, actually!  I got some good news yesterday.  It looks like I SHOULD be able to buy a house by the end of the year!  I qualify for a loan, not the evil kind either, I checked LOL!!!  And there is a plethora of decent foreclosed houses that fit my price range around here, so I'm pretty stoked!  Just gotta come up with a down payment, but that shouldn't be to hard.  Might have to take on a second job temporarily to give me a boost, but HEY!  It will totally be worth it if I can get a house where my daughter can actually have her own room, and Vinnie can have a yard to run around, and I won't have to worry if I'm making to much noise for my neighbor that lives below me! 

So I'm sorry I'm rambling!  But I will hopefully have my other computer back in about 2 weeks, and I promise I will comment bomb the hell outta all of you :D

OOoooooo....I can't wait to see what kinda stuff he will come up with!!!! :D  

We started of in Fort Worth, I went to pick up Rachel (shatterdreams) at the train station and we headed to Austin!  It's about a 3.5 hour drive but it went SUPER fast with Rachel there to talk to!  So all the sudden we were in Austin three hours early, searching for a bathroom and batteries!

We found both...eventually and then went in search of the venue, NO THANKS TO YAHOO, we found the place and then parked and went to Spaghetti Wharehouse to eat, yummy, I LOVE that place :D

ANYWHOOOOO....no on to the concert!  The opening band was Alpha Rev.  An awesome band from Austin!  They seriously blew me away.  I was there to see Scott, but DEF came away a fan of this band. They kind of had a Radiohead sound.  They had a violinist that was amazing!  They had a pretty big sound, I just liked everything about them...did I mention the violinist?  Yeah!  They were good!

NOW!  On to the man of the evening.  About 30 minutes after they were supposd to start, Scott Weiland and company showed up on stage!  It was AWESOME!!!  I was in awe of the whole evening!  He came on and sang and danced, it was fantastic!  (All the exclamation points are necessary, trust me!!!!)  So pretty much he sang stuff off of "Happy" in Galoshes, his new solo CD.  But he also sang a couple of STP songs, Vaseline, Interstate Love Song, Atlanta and I think he sang another one...I can't really remember...I also think that he might have sang Mockingbird Girl, but I can't be for sure, I would have to ask Rachel to be sure...but that was how the concert went!  It was GREAT!  Scott sang and danced, unfortunately his shirt didn't come completely off.

So after the show was over Rachel and I were going to hang out, but they were kicking everyone out of the concert area.  We decided that we would go stand out by the bus.  We were there for awhile and no Scott, but the bassist (Who was super hot, me and Rachel both agreed on that) showed up.  He walked back into the bar, so we followed him, thought if anything we would get to meet him and that would be good enough.  This whole time, I HOPING we could meet Mr. Weiland, but I REALLY didn't think it was going to happen. 

We go back in the bar and were kinda standing around.  The bassist was pretty much surrounded by people the whole time, so we kinda decided to chill out for a bit, Rachel got a beer, I was trying not to fall asleep (HEY! GIVE ME AN F-ING BREAK!!!  I was up at like 6 am Friday morning and at this time it was about 1 am Saturday morning, I was EXHAUSTED)  I was loosing hope pretty quickly.  We had pretty much decided after Rachel finished her beer, we would go. So we sat down on a couch and started talking to this guy.  After a couple of minutes Rachel grabbed my hand...I looked up and SCOTT WEILAND WAS IN THE FUCKING BAR!!! OMG! OMG! OMG!!!!!  I had NO IDEA what I was going to do.  I think that at first me and Rachel were going to go up to him. but we decided we would give him some space, he just put on a show!  Geez, let the man have a beer right?  NO!  He got himself a drink and ended up in a booth with the bassist and a couple of chicks.  Then a crowd of people descended on the booth.  I started loosing hope even then!  I was like, this isn't going to happen!  So we waited

After a little while I was like "Rachel lets go!" as in let's go to Scott.  We both got up and then when we got up there, I was lke "NOO!!! I can't do this" Seriously, I got SSSOOO nervous!  I just had ZERO confidence.  The guy that we were talking to followed us up there, there was still a bunch of people surrounding Scott, so we were kinda standing there.  From this point on it is kinda a blur.  I think that everyone at the table was getting irritated with everyone else hanging out asking for pics and stuff.  Somehow we ended up at the table and we got to shake hands with Scott and say hi, he smiled! OMG! OMG! OMG! OMG! Afterwards, I was talking to Rachel and we both decided that Scott had nice hands and they were nice and soft and not clammy or anything, they were great LOL!!!!

At this time, everyone at the table apparently decided they were going to leave the bar.  At first, when we asked for a pic, Scott said no, like I said there were tons of people standing around asking for the same thing and I think that the group was really irritated.  Then somehow, for some reason, the guy that we had been talking to on the couch stepped in and did some SERIOUS fast talking and managed to talk Scott into a pic and he agreed!  I have no idea who that guy was or what he said, but THANK YOU!!!!! 

And just that fast it was over!  We were walking out of the bar and headed back to Fort Worth!!!  Also Mr. Weiland!  THANK YOU for taking a pic with us, you have NO IDEA how much that meant to a bunch of little fan girls like us, you totally made my day, week, month, year, LIFE!  LOL!!!  I still can't believe how great that day turned out!  It was a GREAT way to start off the year!

James Hetfield- He's a little older, like old enough to be my dad, but I don't really care, I would let him sing me to sleep ANYTIME!!!!  HELL YEAH! :D (I like James minus the hair BTW)

Zakk Wylde- Once again, a little older, but I DO NOT DISCRIMINATE!  K?  I love this man, both times I've seen him with Ozzy, I just love to watch him play!  I even like his guitar :D  I'm not usually into long hair, but I don't mind it on this guy LOL!!!

Rob Zombie- He looks dirty and skeezy, but he also seems like he would be a lot of fun! 

Corey Taylor- This one was on MJ's list, but I like him too...so I put him on my list too :D  IDK, I kinda even like him with a mask on!  Either way, it don't matter to me.  LOL!!!

All the guys in Apocalyptica- They are from Norway and they play cellos and they are HOT!

Zacky V.- I just love his eyes, MUAH! :D

Jesse Landry- plays with In This Moment, yeah Maria usually gets all the attention, but I love watching THIS guys ;D

Joe Brown- OH HAI!....yeah :D

Trent Reznor-....He might not be considered "metal" but as far as I'm concerned he should to every "(Whatever) Hot Dudes" List!  I don't care if it is metal, country, rap, whatever :D  So here is a pic of him to close this thing out LOL!!! ENJOY :D

I think most people would agree that Metallica are LEGENDARY and PIONEERS (at least pioneers of metal, right?)  Either way this is long over due.  They join a list of legendary pioneering type people in the music industry, so CONGRATS Metallica! You guys TOTALLY deserve it :D

EDIT: I just read that bands are only eligible for being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 25 years AFTER the release of their first album and Metallicas first album apparently dropped in 1983 which basically makes 08 the first year they would've been eligible for this honor.....Oooopppsssss, did not know that, but I'm glad I do now, I feel less outrage now :D
